What MP do you want?

Botox island is a unique society fed with doctrines in the guise of academic pursuits. So much so that its people have lost the ability to think anymore. Case in point.

People have confused political parties with the MPs in parliament. Majority of them thinks that the ruling party brand is synonymous with quality, honesty and integrity! So much so that as long as the voting ballot paper puts the party brand there, irregardless if the candidate is a douchebag, people just tick.

To bring to clarity if the people are right, we must first define what makes a good MP. To make it even easier to grasp, lets define what makes a good parent to a child. Statistically, high achievers parents have been shown to neglect their children busy making money in the workplace. Their parental duty is delegated to the house maid. And spoiled rich kids is a by-product of this arrangement. So what makes a go-getter parent profile?

In botox island, the academic pursuits have been to aim to achieve being a doctor, lawyer, professional. And the ruling party has played on this to introduce all their MPs with this calibre as a hallmark of "quality". But wait, we all know that go-getters parents dont listen to their children very well, and tends to delegate parenting duty to the housemaid! Now look at the barrage of people at meet-the-people session, the MP only sits in once a month, his assistants (maids) would take questions, filter requests and attend to them on the MP's behalf. Meanwhile the doctor, laywer, professional MP has more money making matters to attend to in his daily life! Go-getter parent?

So what makes a good parent, we have heard stories of poor/caring children brought up and succeed in life, because their parents play a major influence on their lives. With no maid in-between, the role model of the child has to be the parent, if not, bad influence from school. But this bad influence can be negated if the parent remain focus on the child during his time at home. For family is first base for all growing children. "有家有国".

Yes, the MP must have world experience (to be a parent to a child), must have minimum success in life (as a role model). Definitely a bum cant qualify no matter how kind hearted he can be!!! But not overly ambitious, for that would most likely deviate from his prime directive. Doctors, lawyers, professionals are go-getters, they are very good at what they do, merticulous in their profession. But lacking in humanity, for they may not know how. Too afraid to expose themselves, too insecure, hiding behind their badge of only honour, the JOB! Thats nothing much they can offer.

An MP represents the people that voted for him/her, not the party that he/she joins. A parent fights for his/her children, not put them aside while he makes money. So the people/children must know how to demand rightfully from their MP/parent, not money, not benefits, but for a concrete fundamental society that protects their well being.

Twisted Credibility

As if the scandals of Enron, Worldcom is not enough to jot the memory of the masses, man keeps hardwiring themselves to the written rules of obedience training ensures a fixed parameters of values that can be assured! Auditors trained in the written code of ethics will carry out their duty fiduciary. But is it working? Nope.

A doctor taken the Hippocrates Oath, in private practice for many years, dangling the enormous wealth and powerful clients, do they still remember the Oath? Nope.

A lawyer study freverishly for 7 years, call to the bar, oath again. Again face with enormous wealth and powerful clients, do they still remember the Oath? Nope.

Hardwired, that's the crux of the problem with people, they have been hardwired with more than 10 years of education, being shown how hard it is to obtain a degree, professional qualification. Those who achieve it, deserve the utmost respect and leeway. Its like in the animal kingdom, the lead male Lion can screw any female he chooses, he can do no wrong? Are we animals?

It is no wonder with this foolishness, society has degenerated, decay to what it is today. Misplaced trusts in a twisted concept of credible leadership.

How foolish man is? Here is a list of 90 over quotes on the foolishness of man. Here's one i particularly find apt.
“Any fool can make a rule, and any fool will mind it.”

Liberation Can only Come from Within

A recent mega shopping mall's ceiling collapse has riled me that Singaporeans are excited as if a national monument has been vandalised? Oh my, I am not nonchalant, pray no one gets hurt. But what is a shopping mall?

My definition it's no different from a cemetery (yes in case you havn't notice, I am a freak and a weirdo). For many years I have stopped exploring malls just because they are all the same, own by the same franchise, selling things you dont need. Oh really? Yes really. People have been groomed to live for others in society, so that there is consumption, and then there is trade, and thus the need for governance for this precious cycle of human activity. Its a really quite a phenomenon if you look at it from a weirdo's point of view! (Or whose the weirdo?)

Weirdo Test Questions:-
1. Who likes to dress up in monkey suits all day, spend time doing something call work and looking forward to getting home at the end of the day?
2. Do you think dress up in monkey suits makes you look confident and powerful?
3. Do you feel comfortable wearing that same monkey suit in the comfort of you home? Why not wear it all day?
4. If work is something you enjoy you tell yourself, why do you need to take holidays?
5. Why do you learn skills that are only relevant to work, but cannot be applied to yourself? Does your family enjoy seeing you work? Are you training for the circus?
6. If all commerce shuts down, can you find food and cook yourself? Are you doomed living in the wild? (most people says commerce has infiltrated all round the world, this is not an issue, DHL delivers everywhere) Ya but does DHL delivers within 3 days before you die of hunger, or can you hunt or find food within 3 days?

Question 6 seems the least of people's worries, where most place such great importance on questions 1 to 5, which is most relevant as long as commerce is there to keep things going. So the world goes, propping up this cycle of human activity to keep humans occupied. Grinding humanity to the ground, devoid of basic survival skills, devoid of the need to think about the future, holding on to the holy grail of human civilisation, commerce of human activity.

Of course its too extreme to disassociate oneself entirely from mainstream human activity, one would be living in misery and physical hardships in an environment so well endowed and easy to go by, just pick up a few social skills, earns what one needs and enjoy life just the same. But alas, the greed of humans, marketing makes one thinks one needs more than is needed to get buy, you need that perfume, you need that suit, you need that car, you need that jacuzzi, you need that massage chair!!! Advertising have us buying shit we dont need, and working jobs we hated (quote from the movie "Fight Club") And in fact some people are living in misery instead of the hermit because of their material pursuits, injected by imaginary botox happiness. End of the day, advertising just tells them the true calling of all humans, you need tons of money for a retirement in a fishing village, sitting by the beach, sipping nice cold lemonade!!!

Thats why shopping malls are cemeteries to me.

I remembered those days when cars entering CBD were charge for having no passengers. This system was a good system to revive now, that people are making use of cars as personal transport. The govt should stop flogging a dead horse already.

The point is elevating costs of car ownership does not deter people from driving cars more, even if underutilised. All the more they will drive, because only own it for 10 years!!! And knowing this mentality, they ERP you knowing you would still drive. Do you not see the scheme?

The COE and ERP is a lethal combination, yes, it is also the culprit for causing inflation in Sg, businesses pass the costs to consumers. I dont know about economics, but isnt raising public transport costs of an island indirectly raising housing prices too?

Singapore Singaporeans: Mean time, whether they collect tax revenue or not, is immaterial to the number of COE available. Thus they collected money for this damn paper, and told everyone that it will control the vehicle population as price increase. Which is a lie as it is not an auction but a reverse auction. No one ever pay the price they bid, accept the lowest successful bidder.

Sounds complicated isn't it? Good, as the system was meant to confuse than convince.
