Cheap commute

Finally got one of those funny looking head wrap cloth to put on before the helmet, to prevent smell. Bought from Robinsons' Expo sale S$11. Works better than tying a bandana.

Went to my local bicycle shop, and look for a chain guard, cause my work pants sometimes get caught by the sharp sproket teeth and tears. And this guy says rite away, chain guards dun come in spare parts, it only comes with the original bike. That's it, plan B, buy a jigsaw and some aluminium sheet to fabricate my own than. Another mini-project.

30 Jan 2005, shit, now i noe i am no real hard-core biker, my desire to ride to NSH has died out. Due to the recklessness of drivers, the increasing numbers of them on the road has make it dangerous to ride on expressways nowadays. Just my luck to be born at the wrong generation. A generation where population explosion can no longer contain its sanity. Ahh crap.

13 Jan 2005, that's this biker riding a Super4 told me about the expenses of living in the city, Singapore, is so expensive everything, it does not make sense (cents) to own and drive a car. Riding a bike is definitely the next best thing. He's 31 at the point of our conversation, still single. Guess the thought of surviving as a family and mortgaging a house scares the shit out of him too. I wonder how i pull it off too, what is it with biker's mentality towards life that seems different from other people? Are we a breed apart? Or is it just that we choose the cheaper(tax), sensible(parking), accessible (squeeze) transport mode but more dangerous and crazy ones, that makes us think more on the rest of the world's rejection of our choices and we try to make consolation of our choices. But in the end, as long as we can still ride and gain benefits out of it, who cares what the world thinks. They cant pass the license or other reasons, let them be inferior all they want, let them choose their own reasons for not riding one. Its all in the mind. Think what you like, but don't regret your choice and start blaming others. Because that's what breeds losers in this world now.

After riding on my XJ900S for 5 years, i am comtemplating selling it. Singapore has become too conjested to ride, and hot, too. But still wish to relocate to Brunei and ride a harley in that peaceful slow pace country, one of the best path roads in Asia too.

Year 2010, been riding in traffic again, the jams are a blessing in disguise! Drivers on slowing down, invariably slow their reactions as well. Thats where bikers prevail, lane splitting in bumper traffic. Down side is fumes. But goto get to work.

One benefit of doing your own biz is you can choose your riding timing. Hopefully this will ignite my riding enjoyment again.
